PetFest 2009 Held at the Shoreline Bark Park. Located on the road to the boat launch/park that is directly across Shoreline Drive from the South Santa Rosa Recreation Center - 800 Shoreline Drive, Gulf Breeze. The park is divided into two sections.

Pensacola Pelican Games
Throughout the month of May, the Pensacola Pelicans baseball team will be honoring active-duty military members and their families at the ball park during their home games. Come out for an evening of fun and exciting baseball as the Pensacola Pelicans open their season. Sponsored ticket packages include a ticket, hot dog, chips and a soda. Children will enjoy a special Kid's Area.

Concert aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola
A special concert featuring one of the top Country Artists is being planned for an evening during May on the grounds of NASP. typically, over 10,000 military and Civilian Fans have attended these special events.

Pensacola Runners Assoc. Fiesta 5K - 10K Run
The 34th Fiesta Run has been designated by the RRCA as the State's official 2008 10K Championship Race. The top 10 military finishers from the Double Bridge Run will be invited to compete. Marines from MATSG-21 and Naval Students from NATTC will participate in the 5K event.

Navy Band Concert and US Coast Guard Pelican
The Navy Band New Orleans will be performing at Band on the Beach, May 6, on Pensacola Beach. The US Coast Guard will also unveil their own Pensacola Pelican that evening.

Student Essay Contest
All K-12 students within Escambia County are invited to participate in our annual essay contest on subjects associated with the Military and Patriotism. Winners in the four categories will be recognized at a special luncheon at the Mustin Beach Officer's Club aboard NASP and receive a U.S. Savings Bond.

MAM Golf Outing
A special gold outing is planned for May 22 at A.C. Read Golf Course aboard NAS Pensacola. Selected military members play for free with sponsoring civilians.

Other Recognition
Throughout the month of May, service members throughout the Pensacola Area will be recognized in a variety of media outlets. Watch for special profiles in the Pensacola News Journal and on WEAR-TV3. Lamar Advertising will display photographs on electronic billboards around town. Radio Stations will also highlight outstanding Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guard Crews.

The Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours will host FlightSuit Friday at the Mustin Beach Officer's Club on May 14 offering specials to Military officers in Uniform.

The Navy League is sponsoring a Military Spouse Appreciation Luncheon on May 21 at the National Museum of Naval Aviation.

Pensacola beach businesses are preparing a host of events for weekends throughout the month of May to entertain area military members.
